Whats in a name? … The Venus Rhoeas gets its name from two of the plants featured in this beautiful crown. Papaver Rhoeas is the scientific name for the common poppy. 'Rhoeas' meaning red in  Greek. Adiantum capillus-veneris, the fern leaf featured in the crown, is more commonly known as the Venus Maidenhair Fern, and is a plant native to the southern parts of the U.S. ‘Veneris’ being the greek word for Venus, who was the Roman Goddess of love, beauty, desire, sex, fertility, prosperity.
